OPERATION SYRIAN FREEDOM

OPERATION SYRIAN FREEDOM

During the summer of 2016 increased ISIS terrorism in the United States created havoc within the country. The government is in a panic on what to do to eradicate the threat of ISIS in the United States. The President realized that striking the enemy at its head in Syria would be the correct strategy to once and for all remove the ISIS threat. The Iraqi Army in conjunction with Saudi Arabia’s Arab Coalition Army and Kurdish forces have removed ISIS from their country. This massive force has now positioned itself on the southeastern border of Syria waiting for an opportunity to begin the push to attack ISIS.

The President authorized the General Staff to work up a military campaign to enter Syria and seek out ISIS and destroy it for good. The following units were deployed around Syria:

  • 4th Infantry Division – Located in northern Jordan

  • 82nd Airborne Division – Located in Turkey

  • 101st Airmobile Division – Located in Turkey

  • 75th Ranger Regiment – Located in northern Jordan

  • 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit – Located off the coast of Syria

  • Marine Raider Team 8203 – Co-located with the 31st MEU

The right wing of the ACA has their objective as the ISIS capitol, Raqqa. The left wing has Palmyra as their main objective. It was decided that the 31st MEU would make a landing on the western coast of Syria and move inland to from the coast and attack ISIS at the city of Homs and then move eastward to support the ACA in their attack on Palmyra.

The 75th Rangers and Marine Raider Team 8203 were assigned specific missions to secure zones east of the proposed landing areas. The 31st MEU will make an unopposed landing on the beach. Once they have established a lodgment on the coast, allowing for the introduction of the huge logistic train required to support US operations, they will move towards their primary objective, Homs.

They will then clear the city of ISIS forces supported by elements of the 82nd Airborne Division and the 4th ID, already moving with the left wing of the ACA from their base in Iraq.
